Women’s health physiotherapy involves the assessment and treatment of women with pelvic floor, bladder and bowel issues. Pelvic floor function is assessed with a range of tools, including real time ultrasound, allowing an exercise program to be tailored to a patient’s individual needs and specific goals.

Physiotherapy is part of WOMEN Centre’s multidisciplinary treatment approach that aims to achieve the best possible outcome for patients.

The focus areas of physiotherapy include:

  • Pre and post-operation education
  • Incontinence (bladder and bowel)
  • Bladder problems – urgency, frequency, voiding changes
  • Constipation
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Painful sexual intercourse
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pregnancy and post-natal back and neck pain
